Constant Effort Survey

More about the Constant Effort Survey can be found on the BTO website, however it is essentially a survey to assess the abundance, survival and productivity of breeding birds. Twelve timed visits are made during the spring and summer with the same length of nets erected, in the same place at the same time of day. Currently there are over 100 other such sites operated across the UK that all contribute every year to the survey.

The CES has been running for 20+ years now at Priory Country Park, providing a lot of data for year on year comparisons.
